BIOGRAPHY
Will Patrick, Guitarist
Will Patrick is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose professional career spans rock, blues, jazz, and soul music. Will’s sound has been described as “fiery, soulful, and eclectic,” drawing inspiration from artists like Jimi Hendrix, and D’Angelo. His passion for his musical influences has created an exciting blend of alternative rock, and soulful lines throughout his original music. He has released several projects under his independent label, The Radical Collective, and has established himself as an up-and-coming artist of the new generation.
Patrick’s debut album, “Sound of the Sky,” is a statement that harkens back to his roots in vintage rock and roll. He creates a world centered on nature and mysticism, brought to life through stripped-down instrumentation. The album delves into themes of self-exploration, heartbreak, love, and a desire to return to the natural world. The sound is a mixture of psychedelia and alternative hard rock, with elements of experimental recording techniques, creating a warm, classic record reminiscent of the 1960s and 70s rock era.
Building on this retro sensibility, Patrick employs analog recording to create a hazy, sun-drenched atmosphere utilizing vintage tape echo, reverse reverb, and multi-track guitars. The effect is an expansive stereo image blending soulful, high-energy rock with delicate, acoustic, and introspective folk arrangements. The debut single, “Dreamer,” is an ode to psychedelia, Patrick’s hard rock opening statement drawing listeners into the album with a punch. “Sound of the Sky” is set to premiere on vinyl and streaming in summer 2026.
Will Patrick has performed on internationally renowned stages, including the Blue Note New York, Blue Note Tokyo, and Java Jazz Festival in Indonesia. He has also performed throughout the country at locations like the Richmond Jazz Festival, and the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with well-respected and award-winning musicians such as Larry Coryell, Kirk Whalum, Billy Kilson, Bob James, Chris Walker, and Patti Austin.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Will Patrick grew up steeped in music from a young age. At 4 years old, he first heard a “Best of Jimi Hendrix” album and became dedicated to guitar. He began writing music at 12 years old in his bedroom, recording his originals onto cassette with his acoustic guitar. Some of his fondest memories include visiting his local record stores to check out albums like “The White Album,” and “Dark Side of the Moon.” Will then started gaining attention after performing locally around Orlando, where he has cultivated a devoted community of supporters and friends.
After establishing himself in New York City, Will began playing in Harlem and the West Village, performing in the same clubs as Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix. Will has a deep appreciation for playing in venues that have been touched by musical icons. A highlight of his career in NYC has been performing at the Blue Note New York on the same bill as Pat Martino, Larry Coryell, and Vic Juris. Connecting with the rich music scene New York City has made an important impact on Will’s musical life. The scene has been a place where he feels he can be creative and build authentic relationships with collaborators and audiences alike.
“...Guitarist and Singer-Songwriter, Will Patrick is a seasoned pro with a mature sound, having played guitar with various jazz legends since his teens. The Floridian in New York specializes in casually complex jazz fusion, but also has a wonderful line in soul inspired moods. One thing you can guarantee from his performances this week? Groove... ”
““...If music is communication, Patrick speaks about a dozen languages. Rock. Blues. Folk. Jazz-fusion. R&B. You’ll find flavors of all these genres in his [music].” ”
